Ignacio Grazioso

Ignacio is a partner in ALTA Guatemala. He specializes in the practice areas of energy, infrastructure and projects, banking and finance, transactional, and arbitration.

Ignacio advises financial institutions and sponsors on structured financing. alta complexity. His practice includes project finance transactions —with an emphasis on the electricity sector—, syndicated loans, bond issuances in international markets and structured financings under New York law or foreign laws, where he acts as local counsel.

He works closely with commercial banks, investment funds, and multilateral organizations in structuring, negotiating, and closing credit and capital raising transactions. His energy expertise covers the entire project development cycle: from long-term tenders and PPA negotiations to bankability analysis, EPC and O&M contract negotiations, financial closings, and dispute resolution.

He has been a key advisor on several of Guatemala's most significant infrastructure projects, including highway concessions, public transportation, port services, and contracts with state entities. He has participated in high-profile local and cross-border transactions, including acquisitions of multinational business groups, shareholder agreements with complex structures, and asset/equity sales in strategic sectors such as power generation, heavy industry, regulated financial services, and hydrocarbons.

Ignacio acts as a lawyer and arbitrator in commercial disputes, with experience in sectors such as energy, hydrocarbons, pharmaceuticals, and corporate conflicts. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of CRECIG, one of Guatemala's leading arbitration centers. In academia, he has been a university professor for several years.
