Alejandro is a partner in ALTA Costa Rica with more than 30 years of experience, has dedicated his professional life to the practice of law, participating as a lawyer in various litigations both in court and arbitration. His experience covers a wide range of areas, from administrative contracting to mergers and acquisitions, consumer issues, among others. In addition, he has had the privilege of advising important companies on these issues, as well as serving on several boards of directors.
His professional work has been accompanied by intense academic activity. He has the honor of teaching classes as a professor at the Autonomous University of Central America and the University of Costa Rica, especially in the area of Administrative Law. Likewise, he contributes with expertise and knowledge in various specialized publications and participates as a speaker at different international conferences.
His commitment to culture has also been significant. As a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Theater, he has contributed to the cultural development of his country. Furthermore, his connection with the French Embassy and French culture has earned him important recognitions, such as the appointment as Knight of the Order of Merit and Knight of the Legion of Honor, awarded by the French Government.
He has also had the honor of serving in public service as a substitute magistrate of the Constitutional Chamber for 8 years.
His academic training includes a Bachelor's Degree in Law from the Autonomous University of Central America, a Master's Degree, and a Doctorate in Administrative Law from the University of Bordeaux, France.
Throughout his career, he has been honored with various awards and recognitions, highlighting his classification as an Eminent Practitioner in the area of Public Law and in the categories Band 2 in Dispute Resolution and Band 3 in Corporate/M&A, according to Chambers and Partners.
